About
Georgie Baumann is a Butchulla Woman, South Sea Islander (Tanna, Vanuatu) and Gubbi Gubbi descendant. Georgie grew up in Hervey Bay and has been living in Brisbane for over 15 years.
As a Little Drifter, some of Georgie’s earliest memories are of her dancing in the living room, whilst watching rage and putting on concerts for her family.
As a Big Drifter, Georgie has trained in a range of styles in Brisbane, Tokyo, London and France. Georgie has performed on an international stage, national stage, locally in Brisbane and regularly in her kitchen.
Georgie enjoys sharing her skills by teaching and performing. But, the thing that lights her up, is making people feel at home within themselves and connecting them to the lighter dance energy within.
Drifter.
Blakfella word for someone who is in their own world, dancing in front of the mirror, singing up in the shower or doing both, dancing and singing up in the car.
Big nota.
Someone who talks themselves up. Who tells those same stories over and over again. Who name drops. Good ways. I want Big Notas to embrance their born storytelling and leadership ability.
